ISO 9001 Certification - Scully Products & Systems

Scully Signal Company has been ISO 9001 registered since 1996. We currently hold certification with Factory Mutual Research (through RvA), and are co-certified with Sira Certification Service.

Scully Signal first became aware of the ISO series of standards in the early 1990's as our representatives in Europe began fielding an increasing number of inquiries regarding our IS0 status. Mr. R. G. Scully quickly realized the necessity for his company to develop an ISO 9000 compliant business operating system. Personnel soon began researching how to "make it happen".

After much research, as well as taking an honest look at our company, Scully's ISO 9000 implementation team and management were ready to go to work.

One of the most difficult decisions that we faced was whether to tackle the development of an ISO compliant quality system on our own, or to hire a consultant to develop a system for us. We chose the former - and are now very pleased that we chose the more difficult, but more rewarding, route. Because of our decision, we believe that we were able to develop a quality system that accurately reflects the operation and needs of our company. A stranger could never have done this for us.

We believe that Scully Signal Company has reaped many benefits as a result of seeking, and achieving, ISO 9001 registration. Our operating system is well documented and is in harmony with the goals and intents of Scully senior management. We have a framework within which we can make business decisions, both day-to-day and long term. We have a common set of guidelines so that all employees can move the company in the same direction through the performance of their jobs.

Mr. Scully, his management team, and all our employees realize that achieving and maintaining ISO registration is an important step in keeping Scully Signal in a leadership role in the industries we serve. Most importantly, though, we realize, as a company, that having a piece of paper does not guarantee that we will retain satisfied, successful customers. Dedicating ourselves to using the ISO framework to continue to serve our customers, and to continually improve our business is our number one focus.
